Receiving this title is truly an honor; I would have never imagined how rewarding showing rabbits could be. I would like to thank all my mentors who have provided me with a foundation so I could achieve my goals. Thank you to Ann Wiman and Rachel Pentermann for introducing me to the WSRBA youth competitions, and for helping me make it onto Wisconsin’s National Team. Thank you to Jackie Menn, Diana Ornes, Doug Brown, and Hayley Jewel for teaching me the fundamentals of showmanship and helping me begin this amazing hobby. Most importantly, thank you to my parents Nova Mason and Joshua Harazin for supporting me and allowing me to show my animals for the past 7 years. I began showing Mini Rex in spring of 2014. My first show was a small animal show in my home town called Fur Fin Feather. I started out with one little chocolate Mini Rex, which has expanded into a beautiful herd of red, castor, and self Mini Rexes.
The Wisconsin State Rabbit Breeders’ Association has facilitated me the opportunity to show all over the country and at ARBA Convention for the past 4 years. My animals have received Best Opposite Sex of Variety in 2017 and 2019, and Best of Variety in 2018 and 2019. I have a small rabbitry so it’s truly gratifying seeing my home-bred Mini Rex receive these high titles. My animals have won Best in Show at my county fair three times and many Best of Breeds throughout. In addition, many of my animals earned legs and are grand champion eligible.
In 2019 I was Wisconsin’s State Dutchess and the Wisconsin State Fair’s Supreme Grand Champion in 2019 and 2021. I have Received 1st place in Breed ID at WSRBA State convention twice and 1st place in Showmanship Once. Conclusively, I have Represented Wisconsin for 3 years at the ARBA National Convention. For Breed ID, I received 3rd Runner up in 2018 and 2nd Runner up in 2019. I’ve placed in many other competitions such as Communications and Judging throughout my journey and have reined showmanship champion in others.
Showing rabbits absolutely is an amazing hobby to get into, and I implore anyone to begin their own herd. I am thankful for the experiences I’ve had and am eager to see where my rabbit project will take me in years to come.
