This WSRBA Honorary Member is loved by many. She loves our youth, supports our shows and clubs and is always willing to jump in and answer a question no matter what the issue. I believe the majority of us know Diana Scribner and are aware of her high standards and integrity. One can always find her at shows working various jobs and helping breeders with questions or problems they are encountering with breeding rabbits. She is always more than willing to problem solve no matter what breed of rabbit the person may have. Diana always takes the time to explain what to look for in a possible rabbit purchase with potential new breeders, no matter what breed of rabbit they may be interested in. She never rushes anyone who wants to talk rabbits with her. She has given away more dwarfs than I can count to both adults and especially youth. She is not afraid to share great stock. She has been a mentor to many Youth and Adults over the decades and continues to do so. Diana has been a long-time member of the Wisconsin State Rabbit Breeders Association. She is a Life member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association and the American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club. She was also awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club. Diana is also a member of the Blackhawk Country Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club and the Lakeland Rabbit Breeders club. Diana has helped countless Youth members throughout the years. Cindy Stelloh recalls that her daughter would call her mom. Diana would help lift her up along with other youth exhibitors so they could put their own rabbits on the judging table. She would also take the time to have Youth members go around the judging table to safely be able to put their own rabbit up on the show table. She always made sure the Youth shows were treated equally with the Open shows for awards, judges, etc. Diana also helps to sell raffle tickets at the ARBA Youth Scholarship Raffle at the ARBA Conventions. She spends every spare minute she has there selling tickets for this cause. She will be more than happy to sell you an "arm's length" of tickets. She is very committed to doing what she can for Youth both on the local level as well as the National level. State-wise, she has helped at many State Conventions as well, most recently she was seen helping sell raffle tickets. She always brings items to donate for raffles. She is the raffle chairperson for the Blackhawk Dwarf Club. Diana has donated many quality rabbits to the WSRBA Rabbit Auctions held at the State Convention. Diana is always doing something to help with shows in general, she sorts cards, she ramrods, she carries rabbits, she has been a Show Superintendent at a Spring National Show and helps solve problems to keep shows moving. She has earned the nick-name of "Sarge". She once put on over 10 miles carrying rabbits to and from the show tables. Going back many years, Diana was part of the group putting on the ARBA Conventions held in Madison, WI. She was the head of organizing the tours for the Convention. She introduced exhibitors to the many unique places and food of Wisconsin. She continues to do so by donating Wisconsin Cheese, Sausage and Spotted Cow beer twice a year for the Wisconsin carrier that is auctioned off at the Convention and Spring Dwarf Show. The world of rabbits across the United States was also introduced to the Wisconsin Cheesehead! Diana has a very good understanding of Genetics. She is more than willing to share her knowledge with breeders to help solve color and breeding questions. She sells great stock to dwarf breeders at a fair price across the states. She is also willing to share any tips to help get rabbits in top show condition, cooping, breeding does and much, much more. Diana continues to breed top quality Netherland Dwarfs. She continues to show in the state as well as on the National level. She has most recently won Best Shaded Dwarf (one of five rabbits to be considered for Best of Breed) at the Spring Dwarf National show and also won Best Shaded Dwarf at the ARBA Convention in Louisville.
Charlotte Swade
Through her unwavering dedication to raising and showing rabbits, Charlotte Swade has demonstrated exceptional kindness, generosity, and a profound commitment to the rabbit community. Over the years, Charlotte has been an invaluable asset to many holland lop rabbit programs. She has consistently volunteered her time to assist with event setup, animal care, and mentoring young and old members. She has nearly given every incoming youth holland breeder a show quality rabbit to start out with. Charlotte has been showing quality hollands for decades and most holland breeders will have Swade in their pedigrees. Her patience and willingness to share her knowledge have inspired many to pursue rabbit-raising with enthusiasm and responsibility. Beyond her technical expertise, Charlotte embodies the spirit of kindness. She has been a source of support for families navigating the challenges of raising hollands, offering guidance and encouragement without hesitation. Her positive attitude and willingness to lend a helping hand have made a lasting impact on all who have had the privilege of working alongside her. Nikki Vande Hei remembers when my daughter started her rabbitry a couple of years ago, Charlotte heard that she lost her only doe while kindling. The very next show she gave her a pregnant doe of quality that gave her daughter a better start in showing than what she originally had. She still has this doe as a main brood doe in her rabbitry, even with the improvements to the breed she personally has made. Charlotte comes up to everyone with a smile at every show and even a cute little remark when you get to know her better. She cheers on others and congratulates them when they win in a show, and it is apparent that she means it. In recognition of her outstanding contributions and the positive influence she has had on our holland community. Her dedication and kindness truly exemplify the values we hold dear in our organization.
