(ARTICLE APPEARING IN THE APRIL 2011 - SPRING BULLETIN)
Hello WSRBA Members!
By the time you actually get this bulletin, the 10/11 Sweeps Season will in fact be over. Please note, however, THIS IS NOT THE FINAL REPORT! The bulletin deadline for which I am writing this is/was 4/15/11. The season does not end until 4/30/11. But NOW is the time to please start looking at points to confirm you match what has been reported to and by me. Please don’t wait for the final, as by that point in time, I will already working on the awards order.
If you are emailing me, would you please use an appropriate subject line? In the age of computer viruses, etc, I am very skittish about opening emails with either no subject line, or one that just doesn’t make sense to me!
Youth: If you have points listed in open that you want moved to youth, you need to get your letters going! Letter must be written *by* the youth, and please include any/all breeds that you need transferred, including meat and fur classes. Without this letter, points will absolutely not be transferred. Letters at this point of the season should be mailed to me for the most expedient service. Please include an email address or phone number if you would like your request confirmed.
I was not able to attend the board meeting held at Tri County in April because we were attending Mini Lop & Thrianta Nationals in Sedalia, MO. I know there were other points-transferring issues to be discussed at that WSRBA Board Meeting – so, please, check Melody’s meeting minutes for any other information regarding points transferring.
A note to STARBA exhibitors that attended the 12/31/10 show in Janesville: That show is *NOT* included in my report. Deep into the processing of the report, a very serious problem was discovered that could not be fixed without the entire show being redone. At the time I am submitting this, I do not yet have the replacement report. But I assure you it is in the works (Jeanne & Rita are working incredibly hard to straighten the problem/s out!), and will be counted in the season. As soon as I receive it, it will be the first report I work on!
There continues to be some confusion about how often the points are updated on the website – so this is the story (of a lovely lady, who was bringing up some very lovely points…) The WSRBA Board has voted (and discussed, I believe, several times since) to only update the points on the website to line-up with the bulletins being mailed. The day I get my bulletin, the points will be posted. Starting with this next “batch” I will actually be posting it in both Word and PDF formats instead of just columns of information. I have now been given charge of the Sweeps pages on the website (www.wsrba.org) so if you have any ideas, let me know!
