Let's Go To A Rabbit Show!!!
Click on the calendar to see all sanctioned shows and educational events that are scheduled. The month scroll is at the top of the calendar.  All shows are listed after the sanction fees have been received by the WSRBA Secretary / Treasurer.
All smiles
By becoming a member and entering at a sanctioned WSRBA show, you may earn sweepstakes points towards trophies in your breed(s) at the WSRBA State Convention held in September.

Most shows are held at the fair grounds of the listed city, others are held in community buildings.  To enter a show, you may request a show catalog from the listed secretary.  The show catalog will list directions to the show, who they have hired for judges, awards, and the starting breeds.  The starting breeds are the breed of rabbits that will be shown first at the show. They may also start with another breed not listed, so it is better to come early, than late to the shows.

Judging
If you are a newcomer to rabbit shows, your first experiance can be a fun one!  Any one of our WSRBA members will be glad to assist
you by, showing you how to fill out a remark card(s), where to place your rabbits, and how to enter the show.  Once you have the paperwork done, and have entered the show, you are free to check out other breeds, meet new friends and size up the competition.

Not all shows can be entered the day of the show.  The Wisconsin State Fair, and the Wisconsin State Convention are PRE-ENTRY shows and require your entry cards sent in by a certain date.  This is not quite as difficult as it sounds, becuse once you write down the ear numbers and send them in, you can usually bring substitutions the day of the show, and for a small fee, change to a different rabbit.

Substitutions are only with the same breed - same sex and age of rabbit, to another of the same. ex: Castor Rex Junior Buck (Jimmy) to Castor Rex Junior Buck (Sam)

When you are finished showing your rabbit, you may go home unless you have taken Best of Breed.  Best of Breed will go on at the end of the show to compete against all of the breeds entered that day that also received Best of Breed.  One rabbit will be chosen of all Best of Breed rabbits to win BEST IN SHOW!  It is an honor to win BEST IN SHOW at a rabbit show, and if you do, congratulations!!  Besides getting a nice trophy or ribbon, your rabbit was picked over all the other rabbits entered in the show!

Many people head out before the Best In Show is chosen.  If you have not watched a Best In Show competition, it is a fun one to watch.  It is nice to see all of the breed of rabbits represented together on the show table, and interesting to watch the judges as they choose the Best In Show breed.
